Invitation design across San Diego County

The studio is in San Diego County and covers all 67 cities in it, from Oceanside down to San Ysidro and out to the backcountry. The work itself is digital, so being local is a convenience rather than a requirement.

Being local is optional, and worth saying so

Every file is delivered digitally, which means a client in Encinitas and a client in Vermont get exactly the same work at exactly the same price. Nothing about the design gets better because you live nearby.

What being local does buy you is a table. For a wedding suite, a full set of day-of paper, or anything where you want to see paper weights and colours in real light rather than on a screen, meeting in person genuinely helps. That is included on any project over $285, with no travel fee.

Central

Central San Diego covers the widest range of anything in the county, from Craftsman bungalows with deep porches to canyon-edge homes and condo terraces. Party spaces tend to be indoor-outdoor and modest in size, which suits smaller, more considered guest lists.

Coastal

Coastal parties run on the weather and the light. Late-afternoon events that carry into golden hour are the norm, and the palettes that work here are the ones that hold up against bright sun and sand-coloured ground rather than fighting it.

North Coastal

North Coastal celebrations lean beach-adjacent and relaxed. Backyard and beach-park events dominate through summer, and invitations here get texted far more often than mailed because plans move with the surf and the fog.

North County Inland

Inland North County runs hot and dry through summer, so parties either move to the evening or move under shade. Properties tend to be larger, which means more backyard weddings, showers and milestone birthdays than anywhere else in the county.

East County

East County is family-heavy and backyard-centred, with real seasonal swing. Summer events start late to dodge the afternoon heat, and the autumn and spring shoulder seasons carry more parties per weekend than anywhere else in the region.

South County

South County celebrations are frequently bilingual and multi-generational, with guest lists that span three or four generations and often cross the border. Quinceañeras, baptisms and first communions are a bigger share of the calendar here than anywhere else in the county.

Backcountry

Backcountry events are worth planning early. Guests are driving real distances on mountain roads, cell service is patchy in places, and daylight matters more than it does at the coast, so start times and directions carry more weight on the invitation.

Working with me from San Diego

Send the date, the occasion and one photo of something you love. If you want to meet, we will find a coffee shop somewhere between us. If you would rather not, the whole thing happens by email and the result is identical.

What gets designed here most

San Diego runs on outdoor events almost year-round, which shifts the work toward garden parties, poolside birthdays and beach-adjacent showers more than most of the country. Quinceañeras, baptisms and first communions are also a bigger share of the calendar here than they are nationally, particularly in the south of the county.
