Four to six weeks is the usual runway, but here the harder constraint is the calendar itself. Weekends near the end of term fill up months ahead in a city this school-driven, so lock the date first and send the invitation second. If the party is for a class year group, get it into the parents' chat as an image the same day you fix the date. The printed version can follow for family.
Our garden has a pool. Does the invitation need to say anything about it?
Yes, and it is one of the most useful lines you can add. Pool density is very high on the inland side of Carlsbad, so parents want to know whether to bring swimming things and whether children need to be supervised by an adult who is staying. One line under the time covers both. If it is not a swimming party but the pool is there, saying so plainly is the kinder version for everyone.
