Bachelorette party invitations
I make custom bachelorette party invitations, personalised from an existing design for $65 or designed from scratch, then deliver everything as digital files.
Most of these are no longer a night out. They are a three-day trip with flights, a rental house and a bill, and the invitation has to say so.
$65
Your details set by hand, usually back the same day. $145 to rebuild it in your own colours.
Once a bachelorette becomes a weekend away, the invitation stops being a card and becomes a small document. Guests need the arrival window, the address of the house, what is planned on each day, what is optional, and what they need to pack for the one activity that requires something specific. Anything that only lives in a group chat gets buried under two hundred messages by Thursday.
Then there is the part everybody avoids. The cost is the single most common reason these weekends go wrong, and it goes wrong because nobody names a number until the deposit is due. Put it on the invitation: total per person, what it covers, what it does not, and the date the money is needed. Written plainly on a designed card it reads as organised. Raised in a group chat six weeks later it reads as a request, and someone always drops out.
The design has a second audience nobody plans for. These get screenshotted and forwarded, sometimes to a boss to book time off. A card that cannot be shown to a colleague limits where it can go, and the crude version of this occasion has been done to death anyway. The jokes can live in the itinerary lines, where they are funnier for being unexpected.
What changes for this one
This is a two-piece job: an invitation and a schedule. The schedule is where the real design happens, laid out by day with times, the address, and a short packing note. Optional items should be visibly optional, because the friend who skips the boat should not feel she is skipping the party.
When to send
Three months out for a weekend away, longer if flights are involved, because people are booking time off work. A local night needs four to six weeks. Send the itinerary the same day as the invitation, not later, since the cost is what people are deciding on.
Colours that work
Depends entirely on the trip. Sun-bleached terracotta and cream for anywhere hot, ink and chrome-adjacent silver for a city, deep green and gold for a winery weekend. Hot pink is available and is not compulsory.
Questions people ask about bachelorette party invitations
How do we put the cost on it without it feeling awkward?
One line, stated flatly, near the bottom of the itinerary: the amount per person, what it includes, and when it is due. No apology and no explanation. The awkwardness comes from delay, not from the number, and people would far rather know in week one.
Do you do the itinerary as well as the invitation?
Yes, and I would rather do both. The itinerary is the piece that actually gets used all weekend, so it gets built to be readable on a phone at an airport as well as printed.
Do you design bachelor party invitations too?
Yes, same collection. The structure is nearly identical because the problem is identical: a trip, a schedule and a shared cost. The register is usually drier and the palette darker.
Can it be tasteful and still be funny?
That is the brief I like best. Keep the invitation itself clean and let the humour sit in the schedule, where a well-placed line about Sunday morning does more than any illustration would.
